Today is a travel day beginning with our last breakfast on the Pride of America. The Aloha Cafe was packed as all 2300 people ate breakfast at the same time! We never experienced as people were on different schedules throughout the cruise. There were lineups fro food , no plates, empty coffee machines. What a mess.
Leaving the ship though was a breeze. We left the ship, got our bags and were waiting for the airport shuttle in 10 minutes. While waiting for the flight to Kona, I imported all the photos into iPhoto. Showing the pictures of the vacation to Marilyn we made friends from Texas and New Zealand as they asked questions about the pictures and the experiences we had on the cruise.
The flight to Kona takes only 40 minutes. The view of the smaller islands on the way showed the lush diversity of the Hawaiian islands.
Our original car rental for the third week was to be a Ford Focus but there was an upgrade offer to a Ford Mustang convertible for only $12 more each day. We splurged as we figured we may not get back here and how awesome it will be to ride around with the top down, music blaring wearing our cool shades. This may not be the reality, but you gotta dream.
We checked into our unit at the Casa De Emdeko and went to get some supplies. The grocery prices here are terrible. I don't know how people can afford to live here. I expected some products to be more, but most fruit and vegetables are more here than at home, even for tropical staples like bananas, papayas and pineapples.
After a dinner in the condo we enjoyed watching TV and getting caught up on e-mail and blogs.
